Zebra on the Savanna Coloring Page

A zebra stands confidently on open savanna grassland, its bold stripe pattern covering its entire body, with a classic flat-topped acacia tree and rolling hills in the background.

Every zebra's stripe pattern is unique — just like a human fingerprint, no two zebras look exactly alike. Scientists still debate the exact purpose of the stripes; current evidence suggests they may confuse biting flies, which have trouble landing on striped surfaces. Zebras are closely related to horses and donkeys and live in herds on the African grasslands, often mixing with wildebeest and other grazers for safety.

Coloring ideas: keep the body classic black and white, or try a warm golden-brown instead of black for the dark stripes to create a more natural look. Color the savanna ground golden yellow with patches of brown, and the acacia tree leaves a muted olive green.

For younger kids, coloring alternating stripes is a great exercise in staying inside the lines and building fine motor skills. Older kids can shade the inside edges of each black stripe slightly darker than the center for a rounded, three-dimensional effect.
