Red Barn with Tractor Coloring Page

A big barn with a pointed roof and a wide open doorway stands in a sunny farmyard, with a compact tractor parked beside it and a bright sun shining in the sky.

Red is the most traditional color for barns in North America. Farmers used to paint their barns red because red paint was made from rust mixed with linseed oil — a cheap mixture that also protected the wood from mold and weather. Tractors do the hard work on farms, from plowing fields to pulling heavy loads, and modern tractors can be computer-controlled.

Coloring ideas: paint the barn a classic fire-engine red with a dark grey or black roof. Color the tractor bright green or yellow for a cheerful look, with dark grey or black tyres. The sun in the corner can be golden yellow with bright orange rays.

Toddlers will love filling in the big barn shape with a red crayon — great for building crayon pressure control. Point out the big rectangle door and the triangular roof as you color together, making it a fun shapes lesson too.
