Rabbits have very long ears — up to about 10 centimetres in some breeds — that help them hear predators from far away and also release body heat to keep cool. Their back legs are powerful enough to leap almost a metre high. Wild rabbits dig underground burrows called warrens, while pet rabbits are descended from European wild rabbits first domesticated thousands of years ago.
Coloring ideas: color the bunny a soft white or light grey with a pink nose and the insides of its ears in pale pink. Make the carrot a bright orange with bright green leafy tops. Color the flower petals yellow and the small leaves a fresh spring green.
Toddlers will love the big round body shape. Try asking your child to name everything they see — bunny, carrot, flower — for a great vocabulary and coloring activity combined!
